SenS-Software - IT makes SenS

History of SenS-Software

I started programming when I was 15 years old (in 1983). I started on a Commodore VIC-20 and then the famous Commodore 64. My first program was about sprites en peeking and poking into memory.

Soon after that I programmed my first game: A remake of Pac Man... Only the first screen but hey it worked!!

Programming schools did not exist so I had to learn everything from books I bought and just try the hard way. Soon I started programming in Assembly on a Z80 processor and soon after that the 6800, 8086 and 8088 processors. Assembly gave you full control over the processor in a way modern programmers can only dream of.

Assembly isn't an easy language but its very fast. It was easier to program in C or some other 'higher' language. So we tried that. In those days it was ANSI-C and we had to build our own libraries to get everything working. Great days!!!!

Soon after that I started programming in Modula-2, Pascal and then my all time favorite Turbo Pascal (up until version 7). These programming languages were all DOS based and had their limitations. Soon after this Microsoft came with its first version of Visual Basic. Turbo Pascal changed into Borland Delphi which had similar potential.

I started programming in Visual Basic starting from version 4.0. It was a great and easy way to program applications for Windows 95. I used Visual Basic up until the last version 6.0.

Now the .NET period had started and a new breed of programmers stood up. From that moment I switched to .NET as well but I'm proud to say that I evolved from Assembly to .NET.

I am still learning new programming languages. Android is the mobile OS of the future and I have build my first Android demo and am working on my first Android application for the HTC Legend.
